DFW, TX - July 17, 2010, The Lone Star Mustangs defeated the Las Vegas Showgirlz 8-6 to
win the American Conference Championship of the Women's Football Alliance. They will
travel back to Las Vegas for the big game against the Columbus Comets of Ohio on July
31st!
The Mustangs' single touchdown came from the one they call "Yellow Shoes" Odessa
Jenkins. Brittany Satterwhite added the two points that ended up being the deciding factor
in the game. Casey Ray-Tribble had an interception early in the game and Stuff Spencer
sealed the deal by intercepting a pass with 1:40 left on the clock and the Showgirlz were
driving. With the exception of one big play from the Showgirlz, the Mustangs' Black Shirt
defense was able to shut down the passing game when it counted.
With this victory, the Mustangs move to 10-0 on the season and have only one game left on
their schedule against the Columbus Comets for all of the marbles!
